Fun Cooking : Thai Basil Chicken
Chicken Basil, or Gai Pad Gra Pow, is one of the classics of Thai food. The spicy, and the very fine taste of salty and the chicken. I like it so much. Once, my Thailand friend, that used to be my neighbor in TTC, gave me this Thai Basil Chicken Rice, but in a small Bento pack , which is an instant Thai Chicken Basil Rice. Just need to heat the rice in microwave bout 5-8 minutes. The first time i tasted it, i just LIKE it. And after I browse for the recipe, i found that this dish, surprisingly easy to make.
Ok, today, i had a fun cooking time, and thought that you may like this dish, I put in my blog to share with u :)
So this morning, i make this fun Post-it before start cooking… :)

:D So my hubby know what I’m doing entire morning inside my kitchen.

This is where i cook, my colorful kitchen, haha!

:)
Haha!
Lets start with the -what-we-need for this Thai Basil Chicken :

1. Thai Fish Oil (3 table spoon)
2. Long bean, cut it in small tiny pieces (1cm) (2 hand-full)
3. Bird Chilli aka Cabe Rawit (4-5) chopped.
4. Garlic chopped (1 table spoon)
5. Minced chicken (1 small coffee mug) you can change chicken to pork. :)
6. Basil Leaves (1pack)
7. Big Chilli for garnish
Note : Serve for 2.
*Note : If you like it dark, please put 2 table spoon of sweet soy sauce.
Ok, then lets cook!
:)

Heat the pan.. U want to hear the “cessss…”-sound when you put the garlic and chopped chilli inside the pan. Fry the chilli and garlic in high heat. Careful, wait until it become brown, but not too brown. :D Stir it, you will smell the amazing smell of garlic. Owh, i love asian food. :D

Until you see the garlic become brownish, put the basil. It will become “layu”, no problem. Supposed to be layu and the basil will become dark green. Then put the mince chicken. U will see the chicken juice starts coming out, its definitely fine.
You will get “bersin-bersin” because of the chilli, so i really suggest you to put mask when cook this, :D I just figure it out when cook this, will use a mask, next time :D

Put 2 table spoon of sweet soy sauce to give colour of the dish, and 3 table spoon of fish sauce. You’ll surprise how the fish sauce give the dish a very special taste. Ahhh…. Please NOTE that NOT to add more salt, because of the fish sauce and soy sauce amount is salt enough.
Stir until the chicken, chilli, and basil mix perfectly. It will become like this,

wait until the juice is gone, but not too dry. I like it with a sense of juicy, and not dry. But its up to you if you like it dry. :)
Then, all done! This dish perfect served hot with a white rice, and egg. I like it. U know u doing it right when the tense of chilli is spicy enough, but the taste of chicken and basil is one level up of the chilli. My first try, it was not spicy enough from usual Thai Basil Chicken I ever tried. But its okay, the taste is just fine :DDD

We like it. A simple dish, a very asian dish, that very easy to make. Try it out. And let me know the result. Nice weekend for a very nice food. For spicy food fans, tunggu apa lagi… >.< Tryyyy!!! Enaak enakk enak!
:)))))
Have a fun cooking time everyone!!!!! God bless!
