Min’s Cooking : Korean Soy Bean Paste Soup (Dubu Doenjangjjigae)

This Saturday, I finally can learn and try to cook Korean tofu soy bean paste soup a.k.a Dubu Doenjangjjigae (dunno if i spelled it right, haha).  I followed the recipe from here.

Yey!

DSC08038_resize_??

This recipe, we need to prepare some details. But, the food is really healthy from the ingredients. I can guarantee that. So, please try. Its really worth for the taste for prepare the details :)

As I read from my Shi Fu Google, this Dubu Doenjangjjigae, is a very common soup/stew soup in Korean. And for a balance diet, this kind of food is totally MINMERRY recommended!!! Huahahaha. Less fat, no oily, and freshness guarantee.

Ok, then! Lets see what we should prepare.

Find your most comfy t-shirt, home-pants, and lets cook! ( :D ) Lets the world busy it self, we busy in our own kitchen. :P

There is three parts of the Ingredients. I try to put the details here with the picture, so its easier for you to follow. :)

Part 1. The Beef

You’ll need :

Beef1

- 1 cup of minced beef ( You can use 1/2 cup, but my Kung Pi a.k.a Hubby loves beef, so I put more)

- 2 piece of dried mushroom, soak in water and slice it into small cute tiny pieces. (in the picture u can see I soak 4 piece of dried mushroom, the two of them I’ll use it later. )

- 1 Table spoon of soy sauce (light) a.k.a kecap asin

- 1 half tablespoon of garlic (very must have item on my cooking, wakaka)

- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil

- 1 teaspoon of sugar

- Pinch of black pepper

Beef2

Ok then! Lets prepare the beef,

- Put the minced beef and sliced mushroom  in one big bowl,

- Put pinches of black pepper, 1 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1/2 tablespoon of garlic

and, mix it!

DSC07958_resize

I use hands, because i love the sensation. If you want to avoid smelly hands, use some plastic hand gloves or just use spoon to mix it well.

DSC07961_resize

and it will become like this. :)

Ok then, lets do the veggies!

Part. 2  The veggies :)

Vegies

- 1 Green onion, slice into small pieces or 2cm, up to u :)

- 1 Green Pepper, slice into small pieces

- 1 Onion, slice into small pieces.

- 1 medium large potato, cut into small tiny cute little pieces

- 1 cup of Zucchini. Aka Japanese Cucumber. If u can’t find zucchini, use “pasar” cucumber also no prob, I taste it, it taste the same for me. But zuchini is cuter. Seriously.

- 1/2 cup of Chinese tofu

DSC07966_resize

zucchini in small piece.

Part 3. For the broth

broth1

- 6 p of giant anchovy  a.k.a giant ikan teri. I remove the intestine and the head, it looks scary to me, haha!

- 3 cups of water.

and the very important one, u’ll also need :

Chili paste

- Chilli powder

- Soy Bean Paste

- Chilli Paste (medium hot)

paste

This is how Soy Bean Paste (similar to “Tau Co” paste) & Chilli paste looks like.

Lets cook! The very most fun part, :DDDDDDDD

Usually the korean people use the black bowl to cook, but I don’t have it. So I use my partner-pot as usual.

Broth2

Heat the water until it boiled. Put the anchovy. Boiled it for 5- 10 minutes.

After it boiled, remove the anchovies :D

Beef3

Then while waiting for the water boiled, heat one pan. Put some vegetable oil. And cook the mixed-minced-beef until it gets brownish. :) This part u’ll feel soo happy just because of the smell. It smell really really good. :D Be careful of the oil, it may “percik” on you.

DSC07981_resize

I like to cook use this “sendok”, especially for stirring. Very recommended. Not to big, and fit perfectly with my small pan. Easier to stir and the material not going to scratch the pan. This spoon is a gift when we first came to Singapore from school. Like it!

:D

cook1

Thennnn, after the meat get brownish, put it into the pot for boiled. The smell and the sensation will make you excited, wkaaka.

cook2

Boiled it for couple of minutes. Then put the onion, zucchini, and the potato. You will see the contrast, and I really love the color! Wohoooooo!

Boiled on high.

DSC08001_resize

And u’ll see the fat at this stage, remove, remove, remove! We don’t want the fat.

DSC07997_resize

And let it boiled for 4-5 more minutes.

cook3

Add 2 spoon of the soy bean paste, 1 spoon of chilli paste and half tea spoon of chilli powder.

If you not get used to hot and spicy soup, just skip the chilli paste, chilli powder and green pepper. But I really suggested you to enjoy this spicy soup. The spicy makes the taste more better. :DDDDD

Stir it a while.

cook4

And put the tofu. :)

Stir slowly.

Add the green pepper. And green onion.

Wait for two minutes.

Taste it, if you find not to salty, please put some salt. I did it, i put more salt.

DSC08016_resize

DSC08017_resize

It looks sooo good, isn’t it?

And we are done!!!!!

Serve with rice, and  thats itttt!

DSC08033_resize_??

This is really nice, i love the veggies and the “kenyal-kenyal” of the meat and mushroom texture. Must try, okay? :D

Actually, its kind of easy right? Hehe. Even kung pi likes it, he hates onion and vege soup, but he likes it. So,please try! Please let me know. Please share with me :DDDDD After one week eating deep fried, oily food, this recipe is a perfect match for rainy Saturday weekend.

So, please let me know, okay????

Many many thanks for reading. Ah, I attached one video below, how my Kung Pi chef enjoy my cooking. Please watch! And please push the “LIKE” button below this page, if you like my post, so I’ll know :)))

Have a nice day, nice meal… ,and see ya!

Dukbokki is a popular Korean snack food, which is so easy to make, which iiiiis  alsoo…  very famous, and all who Korean movie lover will love to eat! And all spicy food lover will craving for. :DDDDDD I feel so much curious about the spicy. So, today I decided to try make this Korean  snack.

Dukbokki is a popular Korean snack food, which is so easy to make. And I feel so much curious about the spicy. So… Lets start.

What we will need is :

1

Korean Rice Cake, Topoki Sauce (instant sauce –> easy, easy, easy. Haha!) Carrot, Onion, Spring Onion (or you can use green onion) and Cabbage. I think i have a serious issue about onion and carrots, I just love them very much. Haha.

2

I use this brand of Korean rice cake. And today I tried to make small amount of it. Just one cup.

3

Only the water is boiled, put the vege inside. Carrots, Onion, and cabagge.

4

Yes, Kung Pi help me take pic. :) And after stir it a while, put the rice cake inside. Let it cook for 3 minutes. Until the vegetables are tender.

5

And last, put the sauce inside. I found it not salt enough,so i put 1/4 tea spoon of salt.

6

Stir it until the sauce thickens and shiny. If u like very thick, then stir it more longer. Then just a minute before you turn off the heat, put the onion inside. You’ll smell a very delicious taste and beautiful color of topoki.

Finally, tada…….

Fun Cooking : Thai Basil Chicken

Chicken Basil, or Gai Pad Gra Pow, is one of the classics of Thai food. The spicy, and the very fine taste of salty and the chicken. I like it so much. Once, my Thailand friend, that used to be my neighbor in TTC, gave me this Thai Basil Chicken Rice, but in a small Bento pack , which is an instant Thai Chicken Basil Rice. Just need to heat the rice in microwave bout 5-8 minutes. The first time i tasted it, i just LIKE it. And after I browse for the recipe, i found that this dish, surprisingly easy to make.

Ok, today, i had a fun cooking time, and thought that you may like this dish, I put in my blog to share with u :)

So this morning, i make this fun Post-it before start cooking… :)

C2

:D So my hubby know what I’m doing entire morning inside my kitchen.

DSC06794_resize

This is where i cook, my colorful kitchen, haha!

DSC06804_resize

:)

Haha!

Lets start with the -what-we-need for this Thai Basil Chicken :

DSC06806_resize_??(a)

1. Thai Fish Oil (3 table spoon)

2. Long bean, cut it in small tiny pieces (1cm) (2 hand-full)

3. Bird Chilli aka Cabe Rawit (4-5) chopped.

4. Garlic chopped (1 table spoon)

5. Minced chicken (1 small coffee mug) you can change chicken to pork. :)

6. Basil Leaves (1pack)

7. Big Chilli for garnish

Note : Serve for 2.

*Note : If you like it dark, please put 2 table spoon of sweet soy sauce.

Ok, then lets cook!

:)

Heat The Wok

Heat the pan.. U want to hear the “cessss…”-sound when you put the garlic and chopped chilli inside the pan. Fry the chilli and garlic in high heat. Careful, wait until it become brown, but not too brown. :D Stir it, you will smell the amazing smell of garlic. Owh, i love asian food. :D

DSC06806_resize_??_2

Until you see the garlic become brownish, put the basil. It will become “layu”, no problem. Supposed to be layu and the basil will become dark green.  Then put the mince chicken. U will see the chicken juice starts coming out, its definitely fine.

You will get “bersin-bersin” because of the chilli, so i really suggest you to put mask when cook this, :D I just figure it out when cook this, will use a mask, next time :D

DSC06806_resize_??

Put 2 table spoon of sweet soy sauce to give colour of the dish, and 3 table spoon of fish sauce. You’ll surprise how the fish sauce give the dish a very special taste. Ahhh…. Please NOTE that NOT to add more salt, because of the fish sauce and soy sauce amount is salt enough.

Stir until the chicken, chilli, and basil mix perfectly. It will become like this,

DSC06830_resize

wait until the juice is gone, but not too dry. I like it with a sense of juicy, and not dry. But its up to you if you like it dry. :)

Then, all done! This dish perfect served hot with a white rice, and egg. I like it. U know u doing it right when the tense of chilli is spicy enough, but  the taste of chicken and basil is one level up of the chilli. My first try, it was not spicy enough from usual Thai Basil Chicken I ever tried. But its okay, the taste is just fine :DDD

DSC06835_resize_??

We like it. A simple dish, a very asian dish, that very easy to make. Try it out. And let me know the result. Nice weekend for a very nice food. For spicy food fans, tunggu apa lagi… >.< Tryyyy!!! Enaak enakk enak!

:)))))

Have a fun cooking time everyone!!!!!  God bless!

And please click the “like” button, if you “like” it so I know! Many many thanks, cheers!

Fun Cooking : Red “Tomatoes” Soup

Untuk siapa sajaaah yang lagi merantau di negri orang, yang rada malas kaya akuuu (haha, joke) , dan seneng tomat, ini recipe yang very very nice u di coba. Jamin sehat, dan fully Vit-C! Fight the allergic!!! Ha ha ha. I like this recipe coz, ini simple, bahannya juga murah meriah dan ga ribet. Minimal banget jumlah pencucian piring (ps. Maklum, di Sing air mahal banget) dan diet yang bagus, hahaha.

So… I named it : Red “Tomatoes” Soup.

Bahan-bahannya ( As u can see…)

3p. Tomattt

kira kira 400-500 gr ayam potong dadu ( I like to use bagian paha soalnya lebih empuk)

green onion panjang (ini tergantung selera)

bakso (buat yang seneng bakso…)

Seharusnya ditambah 1 kaleng Maling Pork, but i prefer Pork Belly. Haha!

DSC03491_resize

Then… U also need :

Star Anise apa ya namanya??? Pokoknya yang sering dipake u soup…

DSC03880_resize

And untuk kental-kentalnya pake Tomato Pasteeeee!!!!

DSC03878_resize

U sayurannya, kaya kacang polong, kacang buncis, wortel, I recommend yang Watties (dalam satu pack, udah lengkap semua, jadi menghemat waktu, dan ga usa ribet2 cuci satu persatu. Praktis!! Dan very cheap. :D )

DSC03497_resize

See this cute tomato? Haha.

DSC03495_resize

Dun forget to enjoy while cooking, so… i prepare one jasmine tea (apa green tea ya?) for myself, Ha Ha Ha

DSC03502_resize

Ok, this gonna be reaaaaaaaaallllyyy simple and easy.

Prepare pot with soup. 4 mangkok air, will be enough. Kalo airnya mulai kurang, ntar tambah pas mendidih, dikit dikit… :)

DSC03501_resize

Ok, put in the veggie… Soalnya, I like the kacang polong become lunak.

DSC03503_resize

Tomat…. Yep yep, masukin ajah bulet2 gitu. Biar ga tanggung2 sehatnya, Hahahaha. Dun wori, it taste better like this.

DSC03506_resize

DSC03507_resize

Ayam….

DSC03508_resize

Pork  Belly….

DSC03510_resize

Bakso….

DSC03512_resize

Haha. And…. the awesome Bumbu SOUP – dari Bumbu Bamboe. I prefer this caused udah komplet rasanya, garam, merica, lada, bawang dll udah lengkap. Kalo ga ada, I suggest u to use chicken maggie, and put some salt and black pepper.

DSC03514_resize

And wait until it fully boiled. :D

DSC03516_resize

Slowly, in medium heat.

DSC03518_resize

Biar kental dan mirip western soup, (HAHA) put tomato paste. Ga usa sampe sekaleng ya… becoz tar terlalu asem, bagi yang sakit maag ntar ga tahan. Secukupnya saja. I use satu setengah sendok sedang.

DSC03882_resize

And just boiled it for 1 hours, Ha ha ! (Sukanya ayamnya yang empuk, so I let it boil for a bit longer)

DSC03519_resize

Tadaaaaaaa…………… See? Kental, so rich and the color is lovely riteee???

DSC03884_resize

Put some green onion…

I like the color so much. Merah, pink, orange, hijo, putih, coklat… :PPPP

DSC03890_resize

Perfectly match with your rice….

DSC03895_resize

Bon appetite!

So this is it, haha, simple dish u yang lagi merantau ke negri orang, pas kangen ama citra rasa sup indo, :))))))). Simple, easy, and TAAASSSSTYYY oh ya, also healthy… :DDDDDD Trust me, it taste really rich and good. :D Sangat cocok u sup buat kiddy too!
