Julie & Julia Passion. Ambition. Butter.

Julie & Julia is a movie and a book based on two true stories. I saw the book on the last trip to Jakarta, couple month ago. But it seems i have to wait longer to have the indonesian translation of the book.

I watched this movie last night.

I like the Julie, and Julia. They have kinda innocent life. They find a way out from the stress through cooking.

Julia Child and Julie Powell – both of whom wrote memoirs – find their lives intertwined. Though separated by time and space, both women are at loose ends… until they discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible. Written by Columbia Pictures

Julia Child’s story of her start in the cooking profession is intertwined with blogger Julie Powell’s 2002 challenge to cook all the recipes in Child’s first book. (Copied from : here)

So, i’m one of blogger. Like Julie Powell. Like her, I used to give up, and never continue my stories that write. Julie also a writter. She take this challange, finish 524 recipes of Julia Child’s recipes, in one year. And she did it. She post everyday at 6.30 in the morning to her blog. What happened everyday, all the cooking experience.  This Julie and Julia, have someone beside them to fully support what they re doing. Their husband.

I like their stories, even the movie isnt really good.  But its Okay. At first, i thought these women are living at different countries, but at the same time. Until the movies goes half, i realize, they re living in a different time (years). I like the director capture all the scene, its beautiful. I like Nora Ephron visualize each of the scene.

Cooking is good, u know. We can get over al of the stress. All the pressure. And at the end, we can sit together have a good dinner to enjoy.

Bon Appetite
